MEAL PLAN WITH RECIPE LINKS – 08/21 – 08/27/21

Welcome to my weekly meal plan! Each week I like to share the meal plan that I will be using for my family for the upcoming week. I do this because I think that having a meal plan is really important for many reasons. Some of those reasons include saving money, wasting less food, and having less stress when it comes time to figure out “what’s for dinner?”! I try to stick with a meal plan that is simple to make things a little easier during our busy weeks. I hope that this can help you with some ideas of what you might want to make this week.
- Saturday – 08/21/21
- Tonight will we will be cooking on the grill. I will be making Cuban Style Pork Chops. This is one of my favorite pork chop recipes to make on the grill in the summer. They take a little bit more prep time, so I don’t make them too often. For sides, I will be making two of our other summer favorites. We will be having Hellmann’s Orignal Potato Salad and Mexican Corn on the Cob.
- Sunday – 08/22/21
- We are having pulled pork in the crockpot today. This is such an easy meal for a Sunday! I don’t have a recipe for the pulled pork because I am just using one of those slow cooker sauce pouches. So, you just pull the meat in the crockpot, dump the sauce on it, and let it cook all day. As a side I will be making Five Ingredient Simple Green Pasta Salad.
- Monday – 08/23/21
- Tonight we will be doing Rib Eye steak for dinner. I just marinate the steak with some McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning, oil, and wine vinegar. Then throw it on the grill, or broil to your desired doneness. As a side dish, I will be making Quick Veggie Pasta.
- Tuesday – 08/24/21
- Every Tuesday, we do some type of Mexican theme. For tonight, I will be making Chicken Chimichangas with Sour Cream Sauce. I have never actually made the sauce that goes along with this recipe, I just short-cut it and serve sour cream on the side. We will also put out some salsa and avocado. I will also be making a bagged salad from the grocery store as a side dish.
- Wednesday – 08/25/21
- Wednesdays are usually seafood nights. Tonight I will be making Better Than Fried Shrimp. As a side dish, I will be making some vegetable fried rice. I don’t have a recipe to share for the fried rice. I will basically fry up some cooked white rice, stir-fry vegetables and some soy sauce to make a simple fried rice.
- Thursday – 08/26/21
- Thursday’s we usually do some type of soup and grilled cheese, or breakfast for dinner. This is the night that I go food shopping, so I try to keep things simple. Tonight we will be having breakfast for dinner. I will be making some Turkey Bacon in the Oven. Ever since I discovered making bacon in the oven, I don’t know if I will ever fry it again. It’s so much easier, and tastes great! I will also be making some scrambled eggs and home fries in the air fryer. For the home fries, I just dice up potatoes, peppers, and onions. Then, I toss them with some olive oil, salt, and pepper and just throw them in the air fryer. They could be roasted in the oven also!
- Friday – 08/27/21
- Tonight we I will be making one of my favorite baked chicken recipes. I will be making Oven-Baked Chicken. I usually make this with bone-in chicken thighs, but it comes out great with legs too! For sides I will be making 5-Ingredient Instant Pot Mac and Cheese and some frozen vegetables. I always keep some of the steam-fresh type vegetables on hand to pop in the microwave.
