MEAL PLAN WITH RECIPE LINKS – 11/13 – 11/19/21
You can hear the audio version of this meal plan on my podcast at Lola’s Frugal Life Podcast, on Apple Podcast, and many other platforms!
Welcome to my weekly meal plan! Each week I like to share the meal plan that I will be using for my family for the upcoming week. I do this because I think that having a meal plan is really important for many reasons. Some of those reasons include saving money, wasting less food, and having less stress when it comes time to figure out “what’s for dinner?”! I try to stick with a meal plan that is simple to make things a little easier during our busy weeks. I hope that this can help you with some ideas of what you might want to make this week.
- Saturday -11/13/21
- Tonight we I will be cooking up some Tender Italian Baked Chicken. This is a quick to prepared breaded chicken cutlet recipe. As a side dish I will be making Easy Lo Mein. This will be the first time I am trying this lo mein recipe. I’m looking forward to trying it!
- Sunday – 11/14/21
- Sunday nights have I have been trying to stick with easy meals! Tonight we will be having French Dip Sandwiches. I don’t have a link for this recipe. However, all you have to do is put all of the following ingredients into your crockpot and cook on low all day: 3 pounds chuck roast, 1 envelope onion soup mix, 1 packet au jus gravy mix, and 1 14-ounce can of beef broth. When it’s done, serve with some rolls and swiss or provolone cheese! As a side dish, I will also be making a simple Instant Pot Mac & Cheese.
- Monday – 11/15/21
- Tonight we will be doing Rib Eye steak for dinner. I just marinate the steak with some McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning, oil, and wine vinegar. Then throw it on the grill, or broil to your desired doneness. As a side dish, I will be making Vegetarian Tater Tot Casserole and some frozen vegetables.
- Tuesday – 11/16/21
- Every Tuesday, we do some type of Mexican theme meal. Tonight we will be making Sheet Pan Shrimp Fajitas! These are really simple to make and taste great!
- Wednesday – 11/17/21
- Wednesdays are usually seafood nights. Tonight we will be having fried flounder. I don’t have a recipe for the flounder. To make it, I just dip the flounder in egg and breadcrumbs and then fry them up. For side dishes I will be making some boxed flavored rice (like Rice-a-Roni) and some frozen vegetables. I always keep some of the microwave steam-fresh type on hand.
- Thursday – 11/18/21
- Thursday’s we usually do some type of soup and grilled cheese, or breakfast for dinner. This is the night that I go food shopping, so I try to keep things simple. Tonight we will be having Crock Pot Potato Soup and grilled cheese. For the Crock Pot Potato Soup, I just put into the crockpot: 1 32 ounce bag of potatoes, peppers, and onions, 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, and 32 ounces of vegetable broth. Then I just let it cook all day on low. We eat it just as it is, but if you would like it creamier, you can add 8 ounces of cream cheese at the end. When dinner time comes, I just have to cook up some grilled cheese sandwiches, and dinner is done!
- Friday – 11/19/21
- Tonight we will be making Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream. I don’t usually make sides with this, it’s enough as a meal all on it’s own. But, you could definitely serve with a salad.
