MEAL PLAN WITH RECIPE LINKS – 07/30 – 08/05/22

meal plan with recipes

You can hear the audio version of this meal plan on my podcast at Lola’s Frugal Life Podcast, on Apple Podcast, and on many other platforms!

Welcome to my weekly meal plan! Each week I like to share the meal plan that I will be using for my family for the upcoming week. I do this because I think that having a meal plan is really important for many reasons. Some of those reasons include saving money, wasting less food, and having less stress when it comes time to figure out “what’s for dinner?”! I try to stick with a meal plan that is simple to make things a little easier during our busy weeks. I hope that this can help you with some ideas of what you might want to make this week.

  • Saturday -07/30/22
    • Tonight will we will be cooking on the grill. I will be making Cuban Style Pork Chops. This is one of my favorite pork chop recipes to make on the grill in the summer. They take a little bit more prep time, so I don’t make them too often. For a side, I will be making Hellmann’s Potato Salad.
  • Monday – 08/01/22
    • Tonight we will be doing Rib Eye steak for dinner. I just marinate the steak with some McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning, oil, and wine vinegar. Then throw it on the grill, or broil to your desired doneness. As a side dish, I will be making Broccoli-Pasta Side Dish.
  • Tuesday – 08/02/22
    • I do not have a recipe to share for tonight because we will be eating out today!
  • Wednesday – 08/03/22
    • Wednesdays are usually seafood nights. Tonight we will be having fried flounder. I don’t have a recipe for the flounder. To make it, I just dip the flounder in egg and breadcrumbs and then fry them up. For a side dish, I will be making Cheesy Instant Pot Rice and Vegetables.
  • Thursday – 08/04/22
    • Thursday we usually do some type of soup and grilled cheese, or breakfast for dinner. This is the night that I go food shopping, so I try to keep things simple. Tonight we will be having Spinach Tortellini Soup with grilled cheese sandwiches.
  • Friday – 08/05/22
    • Today I will be making Creamy Herbed Pork Chops. This is one of my favorite ways to make pork chops. Honestly, I have never made the “creamy part” of the recipe. I am sure it is good! But, I just love the pork chops seasoned with the Montreal Steak seasoning and browned in the butter. It comes out so good. I use bone-in pork chops. For side dishes, we will be having Chile Rice Casserole and some frozen vegetables.
