MEAL PLAN WITH RECIPE LINKS – 04/09 – 04/15/22
You can hear the audio version of this meal plan on my podcast at Lola’s Frugal Life Podcast, on Apple Podcast, and many other platforms!
Welcome to my weekly meal plan! Each week I like to share the meal plan that I will be using for my family for the upcoming week. I do this because I think that having a meal plan is really important for many reasons. Some of those reasons include saving money, wasting less food, and having less stress when it comes time to figure out “what’s for dinner?”! I try to stick with a meal plan that is simple to make things a little easier during our busy weeks. I hope that this can help you with some ideas of what you might want to make this week.
- Saturday -04/09/22
- For tonight I will be making Honey Chicken Stir Fry. This is a good quick easy meal for a weekend!
- Sunday – 04/10/22
- Tonight I will be making some Baked Ham and Cheese Party Sandwiches. These are cute little sandwiches and they come out so good. Great for a quick meal. I don’t make them often. As a side, I will be serving Hellmann’s Original Potato Salad.
- Monday – 04/11/22
- Tonight will be hamburger night which I do every other Monday. For my daughter that doesn’t eat regular hamburgers, I will be making some Best-Ever Turkey Burgers. I will be serving this with a can of pork and beans and Oven Fresh Seasoned Potato Wedges.
- Tuesday – 04/12/22
- Every Tuesday, we do some type of Mexican theme meal. Tonight we are going to do Taco Tuesday! I don’t have a recipe the share for the tacos, but I can tell you how I serve them. For the meat, I cook up some ground turkey and season it with seasoned salt and chili powder. Then I serve with hard taco shells, soft taco shells, shredded cheddar, avocados, sour cream, and taco sauce. As an alternative filling for my daughter that does not eat meat, I will be heating up some canned refried beans.
- Wednesday – 04/13/22
- Wednesdays are usually seafood nights. Tonight we will be having fried flounder. I don’t have a recipe for the flounder. To make it, I just dip the flounder in egg and breadcrumbs and then fry them up. For a side dish, I will be making Cheesy Instant Pot Rice and Vegetables.
- Thursday – 04/14/22
- Thursday we usually do some type of soup and grilled cheese, or breakfast for dinner. This is the night that I go food shopping, so I try to keep things simple. Tonight we will be having Slow Cooker Corn Chowder and grilled cheese. When dinner time comes, I just have to cook up some grilled cheese sandwiches, and dinner is done!
- Friday – 04/15/22
- Today I will be making Creamy Herbed Pork Chops. This is one of my favorite ways to make pork chops. Honestly, I have never made the “creamy part” of the recipe. I am sure it is good! But, I just love the pork chops seasoned with the Montreal Steak seasoning and browned in the butter. It comes out so good. I use bone-in pork chops. For a side dish, I will be making Bowtie Primavera.
