MEAL PLAN WITH RECIPE LINKS – 08/13 – 08/19/22

Welcome to my weekly meal plan! Each week I like to share the meal plan that I will be using for my family for the upcoming week. I do this because I think that having a meal plan is really important for many reasons. Some of those reasons include saving money, wasting less food, and having less stress when it comes time to figure out “what’s for dinner?”! I try to stick with a meal plan that is simple to make things a little easier during our busy weeks. I hope that this can help you with some ideas of what you might want to make this week.
- Saturday -08/13/22
- Tonight we will be making Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream. I don’t usually make sides with this, it’s enough as a meal all on it’s own. But, you could definitely serve with a salad.
- Sunday – 08/14/22
- Tonight we will be doing Grilled Chicken for dinner. I just marinate the chicken with some McCormick Montreal Chicken Seasoning, oil, and white wine vinegar. Then throw it on the grill. As side dishes, I will be making Rainbow Rotini Salad and some Cucumber Salad. The cucumber salad is made by slicing up some cucumbers and tossing with a dressing made up of a tablespoon of mayo, a tablespoon of vinegar and a teaspoon of sugar.
- Monday – 08/15/22
- Hot dogs are on the menu tonight! We do this once a month. I also make some Home Fried Potatoes in the air fryer. I just chop up some potatoes, onion, and green peppers. Then toss them in a bowl with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper and throw them in the air fryer on 360 for about 20 – 30 minutes. Some potatoes seem to cook quicker and some are longer, so I just check them along the way and see how much more time they need. You can also roast them in the oven if you don’t have an air fryer. We use the potatoes to make Italian Hot Dogs. I am also serving this with some canned vegetarian chili.
- Tuesday – 08/16/22
- Every Tuesday, we do some type of Mexican theme meal. Tonight we are going to do Cheesy Chicken Nachos!.
- Wednesday – 08/17/22
- We usually rotate some type of seafood on Wednesdays. Tonight we will be making Sheet Pan Shrimp Fajitas! These are really simple to make and taste great!
- Thursday – 08/18/22
- Thursday we usually do some type of soup and grilled cheese, or breakfast for dinner. This is the night that I go food shopping, so I try to keep things simple. Tonight we will be having Easy Clam Chowder with some oyster crackers!
- Friday – 08/19/22
- Tonight I am making Penne with Broiled Chicken. This one is just something I made up one day and everyone really liked it. I just cut up some chicken breast into bite-size pieces. Toss the chicken with a little bit of olive oil and garlic salt. Then I broil it until just a little bit crispy. In the meantime, I boil up some penne pasta. I then toss the penne pasta with a little bit of olive oil and mix in some shredded mozzarella. I serve the chicken on the side for those who want to add it. One of my children doesn’t eat chicken, otherwise, I would just mix it all together. I will be serving it with a side of frozen vegetables.
