MEAL PLAN WITH RECIPE LINKS – 08/28 – 09/03/21
You can hear the audio version of this meal plan on my podcast at Lola’s Frugal Life Podcast, on Apple Podcast, and many other platforms!
Welcome to my weekly meal plan! Each week I like to share the meal plan that I will be using for my family for the upcoming week. I do this because I think that having a meal plan is really important for many reasons. Some of those reasons include saving money, wasting less food, and having less stress when it comes time to figure out “what’s for dinner?”! I try to stick with a meal plan that is simple to make things a little easier during our busy weeks. I hope that this can help you with some ideas of what you might want to make this week.
- Saturday – 08/28/21
- Today we will be keeping it easy again with another crockpot meal. I will be making Slower Cooker Potluck Spareribs. For a side dish, I will be making Easy Rice Bake Casserole.
- Sunday – 08/29/21
- Tonight we will be cooking out on the grill! I will be making chicken sausages and Grilled Chicken Breastwhich I like to marinate in some olive oil and white vinegar with Montreal Chicken Season. Then i just throw it on the grill! As a side I will be serving Classic Macaroni Salad, and a Caprese Salad.
- Monday – 08/30/21
- Tonight will be hamburger night which I do every other Monday. For my pescatarian daughter, I will be making some Black Bean Veggie Burgers. I will be serving this with a can of pork and beans and Easy Oven-Roasted Potatoes. If the weather is too hot, I may end up just throwing the potatoes into the air fryer!
- Tuesday – 08/31/21
- Every Tuesday, we do some type of Mexican theme. For tonight, I will be making Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas. I serve this up with some flour tortillas and sour cream. This is a recipe I like making because it comes together so quickly. I will also be making Chipotle Black Bean Chili for my one daughter who does not eat chicken.
- Wednesday – 09/01/21
- On Wednesdays we usually do seafood. Tonight we will be having salmon, which has become a regular in our rotation now that I found this really easy way to cook it that comes out delicious! I use the individually frozen pieces of salmon from BJs. Then I brush them with olive oil and sprinkle some McCormick Smokehouse Maple seasoning on them. Then bake at 450 for 10 to 12 minutes. I will be serving some egg noodles tossed with butter and olive oil.
- Thursday – 09/02/21
- Thursday’s we usually do some type of soup and grilled cheese, or breakfast for dinner. This is the night that I go food shopping, so I try to keep things simple. Tonight we will be having breakfast for dinner. I will be making some Turkey Bacon in the Oven. Ever since I discovered making bacon in the oven, I don’t know if I will ever fry it again. It’s so much easier, and tastes great! I will also be making some scrambled eggs and home fries in the air fryer. For the home fries, I just dice up potatoes, peppers, and onions. Then, I toss them with some olive oil, salt, and pepper and just throw them in the air fryer. They could be roasted in the oven also!
- Friday – 09/03/21
- Tonight we I will be cooking up some Porcupines! These are little meatballs with rice in them. I don’t recall how I found this receipes, because prior to finding it, I had never heard of these! My one tip here is to use minute rice, because I have sometimes had trouble with regular which rice cooking enough when the meatballs bake in the over. As a side dish I will be making Perfect Mashed Potatoes and a can of corn.
