MEAL PLAN WITH RECIPE LINKS – 11/19 – 11/25/22
You can hear the audio version of this meal plan on my podcast at Lola’s Frugal Life Podcast, on Apple Podcast, and on many other platforms!
Welcome to my weekly meal plan! Each week I like to share the meal plan that I will be using for my family for the upcoming week. I do this because I think that having a meal plan is really important for many reasons. Some of those reasons include saving money, wasting less food, and having less stress when it comes time to figure out “what’s for dinner?”! I try to stick with a meal plan that is simple to make things a little easier during our busy weeks. I hope this can help you with some ideas of what you might want to make this week.
- Saturday – 11/19/22
- Tonight we will be making Smothered Chicken with Spinach, Potatoes, and Mushrooms.
- Sunday – 11/20/22
- Tonight we will be making Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak. This is such a comfort food! I will also be making Easy Oven-Roasted Potatoes and some frozen vegetables on the side.
- Monday – 11/21/22
- Tonight we will be doing Rib Eye steak for dinner. I just marinate the steak with some McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning, oil, and wine vinegar. Then throw it on the grill, or broil it to your desired doneness. As a side dish, I will be making Pennsylvania Dutch Corn Pie.
- Tuesday – 11/22/22
- Every Tuesday, we do some type of Mexican theme. For tonight, I will be making Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas. I serve this up with some flour tortillas and sour cream. This is a recipe I like making because it comes together so quickly.
- Wednesday – 11/23/22
- Wednesdays are usually seafood nights. Tonight we will have fried flounder. I don’t have a recipe for the flounder. To make it, I just dip the flounder in egg and breadcrumbs and then fry them up. For side dish, we will be having Parmesan Herbed Noodles and some frozen vegetables.
- Thursday – 11/24/22
- This Thursday is Thanksgiving. In addition to turkey we will be making a ton of sides:
- Best Green Bean Casserole
- Parmesan-Butternut Squash Gratin
- Classic Baked Macaroni and Cheese
- Easy Holiday Stuffing – in crockpot place 1 cup butter, 1 tsp poultry seasoning, 1 tsp sage, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 3 tablespoons chicken bouillon granules, 2 eggs beaten, 2 cups water, 12 cups bread cubes. Cook in crockpot on low, about 6 hours
- Creamy Cheesy Spinach – in crockpot place 2 pks frozen chopped spinach, 16 ounces small curd cottage cheese, 1/4 cup sliced butter, 1/2 pound american cheese, 3 eggs beaten, 1/4 cup flour, 1/8 tsp salt. Cook on low 4 to 5 hours.
- Corn Casserole III
- Chef John’s Perfect Mashed Potatoes
- Friday – 11/25/22
- Not planning to cook today, we should be eating Thanksgiving leftovers!
