MEAL PLAN WITH RECIPE LINKS – 12/11 – 12/17/21
You can hear the audio version of this meal plan on my podcast at Lola’s Frugal Life Podcast, on Apple Podcast, and many other platforms!
Welcome to my weekly meal plan! Each week I like to share the meal plan that I will be using for my family for the upcoming week. I do this because I think that having a meal plan is really important for many reasons. Some of those reasons include saving money, wasting less food, and having less stress when it comes time to figure out “what’s for dinner?”! I try to stick with a meal plan that is simple to make things a little easier during our busy weeks. I hope that this can help you with some ideas of what you might want to make this week.
- Saturday -12/11/21
- Tonight I will be making Quick Baked Chicken Parmesan. As the name states, it’s a quick chicken parmesan recipe with no frying. You just bread the chicken breast, bake it, then add the sauce and cheese and bake a little longer. It’s a pretty simple recipe. I will be serving spaghetti with jarred sauce as a side dish. You could also make chicken parmesan sandwiches with this!
- Sunday – 12/12/21
- We will have having some BBQ Country Style Ribs tonight. These take a while to cook in the oven, so plan to cook early if you will be making these. I will be serving the ribs with a bagged Ceasar Salad and Vegetarian Tater Tot Casserole.
- Monday – 12/13/21
- Tonight we will be doing Rib Eye steak for dinner. I just marinate the steak with some McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning, oil, and wine vinegar. Then throw it on the grill, or broil to your desired doneness. As a side dish, I will be making Easy Lo Mein.
- Tuesday – 12/14/21
- Every Tuesday, we do some type of Mexican theme meal. Tonight we are going to do Taco Tuesday! I don’t have a recipe the share for the tacos, but I can tell you how I serve them. For the meat, I cook up some ground turkey and season it with seasoned salt and chili powder. Then I serve with hard taco shells, soft taco shells, shredded cheddar, avocados, sour cream, and taco sauce. As an alternative filling for my daughter that does not eat meat, I will be heating up some canned refried beans.
- Wednesday – 12/15/21
- We usually rotate some type of seafood on Wednesdays. Tonight we will be having Bacon Wrapped Barbeque Shrimp. I have mentioned previously that I do not actually wrap the shrimp when I make this recipe. Instead, I cut up the back in pieces and lay over the shrimp on the baking sheet. As a side dish, I will be making some vegetable fried rice. I don’t have recipe link for this one. I will just be stir frying up some frozen stir fry vegetables, then adding some cooked white rice and soy sauce for flavor!
- Thursday – 12/16/21
- Thursday’s we usually do some type of soup and grilled cheese, or breakfast for dinner. This is the night that I go food shopping, so I try to keep things simple. Tonight we will be having Slow Cooker Corn Chowder and grilled cheese. When dinner time comes, I just have to cook up some grilled cheese sandwiches, and dinner is done!
- Friday – 12/10/21
- Tonight we will be making Baked Teriyaki Chicken. This is a recipe that I don’t make in the summer because it does take a while to bake in the oven. As a side dish, I will be making Instant Pot Mac & Cheese and Air-Fryer Asparagus Fries.
